VAMPIROS DEL BEAT – DE NUEVO

The musical group VAMPIROS DEL BEAT approached us to create a music video for the track DE NUEVO. The full production cycle, starting from visual concepting and script development to art-direction of post-production processes, was carried out by P.MOTION team. 3D and CG-graphics, motion design were used in the process.

The idea of the clip came directly from the name of the band Vampiros del beat – musical vampires, thirsty for blood and adventure. We decided not to limit ourselves and create something so bright, psychedelic and emotional that the viewer will not be able to stop gazing at the screen. This project was a great opportunity for our team to level up their skills and experiment with new approaches.

Idea

The main idea of the clip is a metaphorical representation of vampires as humans, maddened in search of a nighttime adventures. Through classy visual techniques and a rich color palette, their hunting, partying and escape from the dawn are exposed.

The plot

The story begins with a car driving by at sunset. The driver is not reflected in the mirror, which is a hint of his vampire nature, and the passengers are hot chicks holding bags of blood. They are off to a party, hunting for “victims”. Immersed in a world of blood and madness, where these elements become symbols of the night’s freedom.

The plot escalates from a drop of blood at a bar to a party with an invasion to strippers’ dressing rooms, a fight with a DJ and a car taking off. At dawn, the characters fly off across the city, hiding from the sun.

Technologies and process

Everyone took on their own part: 3D animation, motion collages, special effects or AI tools for image creation. This approach gave the opportunity to show individual style of each member of the team and to introduce unique elements.

We animated the typography and added psychedelic collages that set the mood for the entire video. We used 3D scans of the artists. Touch Designer helped us process the footage shot on the chromakey. We used Blender to create all the 3D scenes. AI tools were used to create unusual shots and facial animation, and by processing graphics through old TV sets we added style.

The outcome of work

We made a bright and crazy music video combining a cool story, juicy visuals and experiments with instruments. The vampire party came to life through dynamic scenes, 3D graphics and psychedelic effects. This project gave us a chance to go wild, try something new and create something that we, the viewer and the client would really enjoy.
