The creative agency «NA SHUME» creates and covers events and runs a YouTube channel about progressive creativity and culture. Using its social media and activities, the team promotes brands, artists, and enthusiasts of contemporary culture.
«NA SHUME» is launching a new YouTube project called «VNE SHUMA» (Out of the Noise), creating content about contemporary culture in interview format. They invited us to create an intro for it.

The idea behind it contains two worlds: “noisy” and “out of the noise.” In the show, the main characters sit in a white room, back to back, and communicate through TV screens. We proposed making a full CG video that plays on the unusual shooting space.
The protagonist runs away, trying to escape from a world where there is only television interference and TV noise. The TVs are doors to new spaces, but each of them is a dead end. At the end of the dreamlike video, the protagonist falls and wakes up, finally finding himself in a quiet place. It is a studio and the first shot of the interview. The show begins.

Anton’s cartoon counterpart. He is a founder of «NA SHUME» and interviewer on the show «VNE SHUMA» (Out of the Noise).

Location

The white infinite space with TVs replicates the actual studio where the show is filmed.

Techniques

Seamless transition between the intro and interview, which immerses the viewer in the dialogue between the host and guest.

We have the real world and VHS world, which we combine in the video, mixing styles: video shooting + CG.

Our tools for creating the atmosphere: clear angles without corners, interpolation, frame-by-frame animation. Stylistics of CG aesthetics emulation: glitch effects and analog distortions, surrealism and disorientation. Abrupt cuts in the hero’s movements, imitating “low FPS.” Lighting and color correction that create a “plastic” look.
